Hey all,

i am a Systems Architect of about 12 years experience.

I worked as an IT architect for banks, energy, pharma on global projects. Managed team up to 75 developers spanning 3 countries. In charge of 30 million USD annual turnover.

Last 3 years i stopped working as an IT Systems Architect and went back to being a Building Architect. This is what i studied at University, with my 2 year Thesis on Embodied Energy Analysis with the CSIRO Australian Government Research Laboratory. I was working with leading scientist on hydrogen fuel cells and Solar Hydrogen conversion equipment prototyping. That was 15 years ago, and even then the technology was viable.

I started building using tilt up concrete sandwich panel, and recently hemp based building.
I crunched the numbers for hemp and worked with some PHD students studying Hemp in Sweden.
You can built 80% of a home using hemp, with lime and polozoic ash. Yes its EASY to make your own "hemp crete".
An area of about 300m2 with hemp growing on 8 week cycle (which is normal up to 45 degrees off the equator) will give you enough hemp.
Hemp is used for: floor plate, walls, roof.

If i can help let me know.

Regards

Gerard

Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.
