What do you do and/or would like to do in Atlas City?

I currently take care of my grandma who has dementia. I also make cloth menstrual pads and sell them on my website and at the local farmers market.

What education do you have or would like to acquire?

I'm working on a bachelors degree in social sciences. I'm interested in studying all kinds of things.

Are you interested in living in Atlas City?

I don't know yet, but I would like to contribute toward building it. Would it be ready in my lifetime? I'm 33.

Do you have skills to help build Atlas City?

I'm good at asking questions and coming up with ideas. I'm good at thinking spacially and mechanically, learning languages, figuring out how things work and how to do things but I don't have a very good memory so I'm always figuring things out all over again.

As far as living in the city, I could help out with elder care or child care, but I'd like to do other things as well.

Have you decided what committee you would like to join?

The Conceptualization Committee sounds like it would be a good fit for me. Or maybe eduation or industry

Have you studied Resource Based Economies or Venus Project, what are you thoughts or concerns?

I've started to study them. I'm mostly concerned about the transition. I hope that things happen organically, but also efficently and orderly if that's possible. I think that a pilot city like this is a really good idea.

How important do you think health and diet is in Atlas City?

Very important. I can't function on a bad diet.

Are you motivated by money, or integrity, love, purpose and social contribution?

All of the above except for money. I'm motivated to get away from money.

1) Do you think people will need to work in Atlas City? Explain your answer.

Sure, things will need to be maintained. Children will need to be educated and cared for. But with more automation we would be doing a lot of things for ourselves instead of relying on professionals. For example medical equipment could become so advanced that we would be able to us technology to diagnose ourselves instead of seeing a doctor.

2) Do you think technology exists today so that all tasks can be automated? Explain your answer.

Technology exists for a lot of reasons, but I'm sure that's one goal.

3) Do you think that security is needed in Atlas City? Explain your answer.

I don't want to think about it - I never lock anything. Well, hopefully any envious people would be motivated to join instead of to take away.

4) Do you think that everyone should wear fine jewelry and drive rich cars in Atlas City? Explain your answer.

I hope there wouldn't be a dress code! I don't really understand wanting to wear fine jewelry but I don't mind if others want to wear it, if that's what makes them comfortable. Just as long as I'm not expected to wear it too. I wouldn't expect to see private cars in Atlas City because transportation would be more of a shared thing.

5) Do you think food, health care, clothing, education, living quarters are a human right? Explain your answer.

Yes, they are. The resources of the earth belong to all of us.

6) Do you think that some people deserve to have more benefits over others because of what they do? Explain your answer.

No. Each person should take according to their needs.

7) Do you think that some people should live in mansions and really nice big homes? Explain your answer.

No, that doesn't sound like it would be necessary.

8) Do you think that its possible for the city to not use money internally,
while producing goods that provide income for city resources externally during transition? Explain your answer.

Probably, but I think it depends a lot on the state of technology and the rest of the world at transition time.

9) Do you think that it is a priority to show the world this can be done,
without monetary motivations at this stage of human social evolution? Explain your answer.

Yes because convincing more people will bring in more participants and strengthen the project.

10) What would you like to do in Atlas City and why would you want to live there?

I want to get out of the money system. I might persue a spiritual path. I'd probably work toward bringing more people in.

Gaining participation is a constant battle for any such movement, especially when that participation comes in large parts via the internet. We grow each day, and hope that it will be done in our lifetimes. It really depends on how many people and what skills join and actively participate.

Welcome Laura!
Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.
