Atlas will be efficient to the point that our footprint on the land we use will be so minute that if we move we can easily return the land to the way it was when we got there.

I'm not sure if there are any specific land qualities that anyone wishes to have Atlas build on. Not that this will be much of a choice, but it may help to localize which areas to look for land acquisition. Personally, I think it would be awesome if we could be a location on or near a mineral hot springs.

This is more for fun and fantasy, but I'm hoping it spurs some interesting ideas.

i think it would be good to live somewhere where there are natural trees and a more hospitable climate when it comes to gardening.

We want a technologically advanced city, so get the cheapest, poorest quality land available so we can concrete over it, or improve it.

I prefer as much land as possible and less artificial ground. Leave as much natural as we can. This also can reduce such unforeseeable disasters such as flooding cause by excess concrete and poor irrigation.

Cheap land will be desert and not capable of supporting much life, however a city could then irrigate the land around it to create any kind of natural landscape, increasing natural habitats which are in decline.

Though initially the desert landscape will be difficult to support life, the composting will allow us to use it just fine. Just like plenty of people in Las Vegas have pools and gardens, we will adjust it just enough to be useful without negative ecological backfirings. The reason Las Vegas floods so bad is that we have paved the entire city in asphalt and concrete. I don't think we should mimic this mistake. Even if we can't use the land completely until we have a better composting system up it seems better then covering too much land artificially.
