After discussing with some people I know they said some acres around elko are going for only a few hundred each. Here are some to look at. Unfortunately, my MLS password is only for the Las Vegas area.

All we need is 6,400 Zeitgeisters or supporters to donate $10 and we have the land! Its not that hard. We need to finish the NPO, set up an account for donations and then promo this big time! We are waiting on a PO Box, which we hope to have this coming week (they were sold out at the post office but are supposed to have one for us this week).

Fantastic! After getting through the NPO, etc., I have no doubt that indeed getting 6400 donaters will not be difficult whatsoever. 640 acres is definitely a great start if we're able to score that.

It's an independent seller that's been on the market for a while, plus he will personally finance if a bank won't. And I agree, that amount of money should not be difficult for the rapid rate this group is growing. Especially if we get assistance from RBEF or anyone else that is interested.

How many square miles would be wanted for the city? 640 acres is just over 1 square mile. What should we be looking for as the size of the land for sell.

The bigger the better, but land is not cheap. Whatever the size we will just have to modify city design based on that. Also, in this area there are frequently large parcels for sale. It's quite possible that we could always purchase more from a neighbor later on if necessary. The more important aspect then size is geography, for this will change slightly what types of technologies and energies we use.

Does Nevada have land grants or homesteading laws or allodial ownership of land (with water and sub-surface rights)? We don't want to have to pay property taxes on a huge city and risk getting evicted by the IRS and having the city confiscated and turned into something else. Most standard real estate deals today give the residents the title certificate and the state is the land owner on that certificate and that is why the state(s) can levy property taxes.

We have to own the title to our land. If we get a deed then it is almost a for sure bet that the government will take it back whenever they see fit (likely after we have built all the high end technology on it)
