Atlas City Project

Hi I am from Italy, always tuned about arguments like leaving monetary system and zero-impact projects.

Welcome to the Atlas Initiative Group. I urge you to engage in sharing in some of the ideas coupled with the concept of Resource Based Economics.

If you want to become more involved, we have many positions that need to be filled and many ideas that need to be advanced.

Of course I'd like to do what I can.

My initial idea was to create an information channel about the project dedicated to Italy. A kind of network where I could try to support the idea and to involve italian people, translating mission, vision and so on. It could be in my personal domain space, or in other ways.

I mean, social, economic, architectural, transportation...there are so many fileds and I haven't really lernt so much from your site yet...
I am more human-social-philosophic orientend.

Every culture is quite different. If you plan on spreading the word more in Italy then perhaps you can give ideas as to what would be the best way to grab attention and we can help with details. I'm half Italian (though I've never been, nor speak the language), and understand vast social differences in comparison to the US.

I find it's difficult to talk to people here about getting rid of money so I ease into the topics by talking about building self-sustaining residential buildings and using free energy. Usually, after I mention the desire to eventually open a free medical facility and higher education institute it gets peoples attention.

Im glad to see people from all over the world getting involved.

@noage, perhaps you could form an italian group to help research and build the atlas city in italy.

For sure that would be the top. A visonary misson, but the top. Not to form the group but to think about "build" here in Italy.

What I meant in my first post about open a "channel in Italy" was just about forming an information group about the atlas project, just to tell other people that is possible at least to imagine to have a better world. And if you imagine and share your immagination with other people worldwide you understand not to be "different", not to be "crazy" not to be alone and you and your project gain strength.



that is right, I have never been in the States, but I have many friend as I used to play american football.
About socials difference, if you mean medical assistance and othe socials sevices, that is an element that made me thought many times and on wich we could discuss even for months about historical, cultural and educational reasons.

In fact we have many free social services, but a low civic sense. You have less social service but high civic sense. It is a paradox, isn't it? All elements that should be studied to plan a new kind o society.



At the moment I think is the better way to make people understand the value of the project. For most people is impossible to think to live without money as the global consumistic system now do not allow it. As with people using heavy drugs, even convince them to use less drug is a first success, making pepole think about spending less money is a good starting point, it is a step to the right direction.




And at the beginning I think the most important thing is just to attract people attention.

As you said there are many cultures and many differnces, but a great vision as "life without money" should stay over them, a kind of "global above-culture".

A question: Is there an of Act of Atlas citizens? A Constitution Act? Or a document with rules and right or something similar?

I think is Atals that shuold suggest what every citizen is useful for

What education do you have or would like to acquire?
I have degree for community director (nursery, hospice, drug rehabilitation). Admminstrative knowledge, basic informatic

Are you interested in living in Atlas City?
I am interessed, but I have wife and two kids

Do you have skills to help build Atlas City?
Not to build as an ingeneer, but as social

Have you decided what committee you would like to join?
Education, but I cannot see a commitee that for me is foundamental: a Constitution Act of rights and duties, a document that comes before the way to build, the materials to use an so on.
No rules = no organziation, no organziation = collapse. Maybe it is already in porgress or done, but I cannot find it.

Have you studied Resource Based Economies or Venus Project, what are you thoughts or concerns?
I red, not really studied yet. As told above, I can not see/find a clear document like an Act or Statement a social base for citizens. I think also that is important to find a way to change society, but is not only building a kind of close city apart the right way to involve as many people as possibile. In Italy we say, to "build a cathedral in the desert" where the cathedral is Atlas and the desert the rest of the world...I mean Atlas concept and examples should spead to the world not only in Atlas. So I think is important to build Atlas city, but it is also important to go among people and show that is possible to do something also in a traditional city. It is easyer to change the system from inside than from outsde
More, I think as resource shuld take the palce of money, sociology should take the place of policy and coscience of human being shuld take place of religions. Too long to be explained here...

How important do you think health and diet is in Atlas City?
I think in a RBE society it is foundamental, of course.

Are you motivated by money, or integrity, love, purpose and social contribution?
social contribution starting from kids educations

Tell us anything else about yourself you would like?
Help develop and comunicate the concept and the social basic values, starting from what I think is the future. Educations for new generations sensibilize parents to educate their kids.

The website host is not the best. We have complained many times, but most are temporary issues. The beauty of Atlas City is that we are designing it with open concepts to others can also build and alter the designs. We hope to finish this city, record the good and the bad, and help alter it for different regions so all can be linked together eventually.
