TOPIC: New to the forum. Hello All!

What do you do and/or would like to do in Atlas City?

I am currently trained as a firefighter, emergency medical technician and have lots of computer training under my belt, with my focus over the last few years in linux (more specifically, Ubuntu). I would love to do anything I can. Have always been interested in learning new ideas, cultures, skills, etc. I have my fair share of experience with manual labor, along with even writing Standard Operating Procedures for a previous fire department. Anything that I could do to make things better for us all, I'm willing to give 110%

What education do you have or would like to acquire?

Well I have formal training in EMS, Firefighting, and HAZMAT. I'm self taught in computers, and am VERY interested in physics. To me, the day you stop learning is the day you stop living. If I don't understand something, I'm always looking for a way to get a better perspective of it, whether by hitting the books or being "mentored" by someone with more knowledge than I.

Are you interested in living in Atlas City?

I am very interested in living in Atlas City. I've yearned for the day when all of this self-injurious culture of monetary gain, greed, social class, and corporate funded government would come to an end. To me, a society should be represented by the individuals that live in it, not by a propaganda monster feeding agendas to the masses, whether it be "left wing" or "right wing". We should all be able to be presented with the facts of a situation and make a decision off of those.

Do you have skills to help build Atlas City?

I've done work in the past with masonry, electrical, Computer Aided Drafting (back in high school), along with fire code inspections and maintaining a safe work environment to prevent injuries.

Have you decided what committee you would like to join?

I haven't decided as of yet which committee I'd like to join. I am going to read more into them and find something that strikes a chord inside of me. I've always had a vastly creative imagination and am always willing to put forth the effort to help succeed.

Have you studied Resource Based Economies or Venus Project, what are you thoughts or concerns?

I have studied RBE and, to a lesser extent, TVP. My concerns are, which is with any budding "community", on how things are "enforced". We are all coming from a society that is fixated on personal gain, materialism, etc... and sometimes, without us even thinking about it, that mentality comes out in different ways. I believe that spending time together, whether it be in person, on a forum such as this, or through other mediums is a great way of finding unity and having our ideas flourish in order to accomplish what we all want. Freedom.

How important do you think health and diet is in Atlas City?

Being in the medical field, I believe that health and diet are extremely important. Not only to ourselves, but to the community as a whole. We owe it to ourselves to live a healthier life. We owe it to our neighbors to not become a "burden on the system" due to our personal choices to neglect our health and well-being. That being said: none of us are infallible, and we must depend on each other for support along the way. We are the key to our own success!

Are you motivated by money, or integrity, love, purpose and social contribution?

I'm motivated by integrity, purpose and social contribution. Integrity starts with us. If we don't demand the best from ourselves, we will start to think that others aren't giving their all or best efforts.

Having purpose gives a sense of accomplishment. We don't need money, that 160" flat screen TV, HUGE SUV with shiny rims or any other "status symbol" to feel accomplished. My purpose is to create a better tomorrow by doing my best today.

Which leads into social contribution. When we all give our best today, we create a better tomorrow. We aren't meant to be working 60 hour weeks just to enjoy a minority of our day to spend with those we care about or to pursue the things we care about. When we make it easier on each other, we in turn are able to enjoy life.

Tell us anything else about yourself you would like?

As you can tell, I do have a lot on my mind and am very passionate about this idea. I hope that I can be a resource to this project and that I can glean as much as I can from others in this community. I will do all I can to make this become a reality, and I so dearly hope that all of you will as well.

Cheers!!

Scott

Hi there Scott glad you made it!

Where abouts do you live?
Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.
