small scale wind generators and power inverters in the 1kw range are fairly simple to manufacture, and the resource cost on each unit is very negligible compared to the asking price of the commercially available units today. If someone can set up appropriate production and distribution logistics I can draw up designs in solid works, source materials, and help set up manufacturing facilities.

What sort of price have you seen them at commerically ?

I have seen two interesting design options to perhaps consider, both are in an enclosed cabinet so to speak, aka Persian windmill style. (This helps get away from the visual strobing effect that some people complain about, not sure what it does to combat the pressure wave effect though.)
