TOPIC: When asking for grants and donations

When asking for grants and donations 1 year, 3 months ago #4908

i wonder if we could get more grants and donations if we say we are working on the elimination of poverty and hunger throughout the world. i think more people would donate to help end hunger and poverty than to change the system to an rbe.

There are definitely some better PR ways to go about talking to people, especially when asking for money. I bring up the money aspect less and less and concentrate on sustainable building, education, healthcare, etc.

Sometimes I'll use the term "alternative economics" at first then go into RBE more when interest is shown. After all, there are many alternative economic designs being discussed (work credit, world currency) and people are less disheveled by these then comprehending no money at all.

Also, I think it's more important to more fully explain that the waste we are getting rid of (excess jobs, buildings for those jobs, consumerist waste/easily broken products). When it's understood we have x amount of energy production and producing y number of items it's obvious that decrease y means more available x. That means less products, but better products and adequate amount of ones that matter.

I think I might be able to answer this one as I don't beleive in the rbe thing and I'm still here. the pitch should be in exploring sustainable technologies in city structures and the studies of societies therein. this avoids the question of economics and puts the focus on design and study from there research grants can be obtained from lot of schools as well as a lot of student input.
so we get studied and monitored but we get funded and we get known if we get the word out in the big schools it could actually be cool to think for yourself again. of course this means being in country but with enough publicity we can't be touched for quite a while.
without misrepresenting the mission of rbe we get funded we get outside monitoring as a backup for our own data and we spread the word of who we are and why we do this I don't see a downside. nearly every dept in the system would be interested civics and government, agriculture, economics, architecture ect.

We are actually going to take a shot at getting grants for funding in the education and research departments, also in green technologies.

its a good idea i think. There are allot of grants but you have to be very specific and not broad in order to qualify for them.

since atlas is such a huge project you might want to break it down to parts for the grant applications.

That's definitely needed. Do housing construction, health, education, etc. Basically, most different committees need specific grants to go for.
