TOPIC: Grant Idea List

Grant Idea List 2 years, 1 month ago #2226

In this post we will compile possible grants to work with. Post the grant, the link to it, what it is about, and your idea for it

for example:

CO2 Utilization:

This grant offers opportunity for our city to do research for ways to process or manage CO2 emissions. One way I see this working in Atlas City is towards research possibly in plant growing systems which can utilize CO2 in massive quantity.

Expected Number of Awards: 7
Estimated Total Program Funding: $5,600,000

Re:Grant Idea List 2 years, 1 month ago #2227

Photovoltaic (PV) Manufacturing Initiative:

"The mission of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Program (SETP) is to accelerate the widespread adoption of solar electric technologies across the United States (U.S.) through a program of applied research and development (R&D), demonstration, and market transformation activities."

I feel in this area we can help them accomplish their goals while accomplishing ours. Such a grant could help get us on our feet for production, especially of solar panels.

$5k, $25k, $50k, and $250k funding options.

Appears voter decision based!

No idea at the moment what one could ask funding for, but at least the option exists to plan an idea to put up.

(I would suggest offhand a bootstrap project, aka one that when funded, can earn funds itself, eg. a business.)

I have an account set up with them, but you have to send it in within minutes of the new month. So far I've tried twice and it was "already full" for the month by the time I re-sent it in. Maybe if more people make accounts and try one of us will get through.

Hello EVERYONE!

The humanities are rooted in the tradition of asking questions about what constitutes the common good and a just society."
"Programs sponsored by Nevada Humanities provide opportunities for Nevadans to read widely, think deeply, and become engaged in their community.

The Humanities grant above has:

Eligibility
• Grants are awarded only to not-for-profit organizations and government entities such as libraries and schools.
• The humanities must be central.
• Scholars in the humanities must be involved in planning and implementing the project.
• Nevada Humanities cannot support more than half the cost of the project.
• Grants are limited to $5000.

A scholar: "Normally, a humanities scholar has an advanced degree (M.A. or Ph.D.) in one of the fields of the humanities. Occasionally, people without degrees may function as humanities scholars due to their exceptional knowledge and experience in a particular area."

We should write up a summary and there is available help before submitting at Las Vegas at 702/895-1878. They do need a specific budget, as stated in their guidelines. We may also have an issue due to a specification that they do not give grants as "fundraisers" and "Programs that advocate particular political positions, ideologies, theologies or actions."

If you guys don't think this will be an issue, or if someone would like to call the help line to see first, then we could start on our first write-up.

We could offer an online humanities, Nevada History type, of course as part what will become Atlas University.

I agree! These fundamentals should be established anyways - plans, concepts, blueprints, etc. this opportunity and its requirements are beneficial all the way around. We need to find out if we can qualify with the stipulation of needing a scholar - it does say experience could be sufficient, we may have someone(s) qualified on board now. The next meeting is the 25th, we need to know if we can qualify. Regardless, we will cover the basics and seek like grant opportunities.
