Doing my internship at an after school program for disruptive children we were required to read this paper. It explains how to teach, or raise, children in a more effective manner. Most of actions and punishments taken by teachers and parents are harmful and don't teach (discipline) a child. I found it quite interesting, and could be useful to anyone with children or planning on having children. It's called "Teachers or taunters: the dilemma of true discipline for direct care workers with children" by Loraine E. Fox. I'd copy the file I have, but our forum doesn't allow PDF files.
