Hello dear friends

Just wondering if any of you have reached out to university professors and students to build up university research groups that may help with the project, this one, or any other one related to a resource-based economy for that matter.

Regards,

We have only reached out to local professors and students from UNLV. We have gotten little response from them but Las Vegas is a different mindset from most places. Do you have ideas? Throw them out there and we will see if we can get them rolling.

I'm a bit surprised, but I'll see as I contact those of my local university. Had you approach them with an introduction to a resource-based economy (like "Future by Design," about Jacque Fresco), or had you gone directly into the Atlas Initiative?

Anyway, I'll keep you informed as I progress with my own actions here in Quebec and I'll share whatever tips I may have as what seems to work out well.

I have brought it up at Nevada State College a few times over the years. Many have a vague interest, but not enough to warrant any further concern or inquiry. Most are too busy (or self absorbed, it seems) to care much besides their daily routine. This may be the general demographic of Las Vegas, the way we approach, or both. Either way there has been little success and it would be great if we had an official PR spokesperson.

I think that Las Vegas is unique in the way the citizenry acts here. Even the Occupy Movement never got very big in Vegas. I'm not sure what it is exactly but people seem to care less here than other places.

Making everything we are attempting to accomplish all the more difficult. However, this also makes each success (even small ones) all the more fulfilling. I am beginning to think that we need to reestablish certain processes to better suite the local envrironment though.
