TOPIC: A post i made on TZM

A post i made on TZM 1 year ago #5327

Thought i would share it here:

"The notion of not taking any action until such a time as a critical mass was achieved becomes irrational, if the critical mass isn’t defined, and some parameters put in place as to things that might take place at the time the critical mass has been reached. "

Agreed what is critical mass? 500,000 members out of 6+ billion people is not, but 50,000 - 500,000 members moving to a few states or even just 1 state (with a small population)in the United States and living in small towns that currently have less than 10,000-20,000 population (there are a lot of Towns with less than 2,000 population) is. www.city-data.com/

Once members are 50.1 % of the adult population of a small Town members can ask current leaders in the Town to make changes and if they are not willing members can run for office as Mayor and Town Counsel members and make changes such as the Town will now be self sustaining with windmills and solar power so all Town people get free electricity (also heat if it's electric). Any Town land will be used to grow food (vertical farms, permaculture etc.) for all Town members etc., free bus transportation around Town.

This is not a full rbe but it is a start to a transition. Then we tell/show/educate people in other small Towns what we are doing, FREE electricity, FREE food etc., then those people will want that too and force their leaders to do the same or they will run for office and make the changes needed.

Then we can say if you like free food and electricity and around Town transportation how would you like free housing, free travel, free clothing etc. also? Of course they will want to know how, then we show them RBE and say this is how we achieve it.

Can you post the link to the conversation on the zeitigeist forums please? I would like to see what the people there are saying in response to your post. Thanks!
Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.

My post was a response on this tread:

It's on the MISCELLANEOUS section of tzm forum under the post The New Direction

Since so many people are now in turmoil and splitting allegiances I think we need to make ourselves known a little more. It would help to get our thoughts and ideas out to these disgruntled members. Perhaps we can get a few more strong members.

Im trying to do the same, as for you OP, critical mass seems very unattainable by any means, I wonder how long it would take before everyone has heard of RBE? Then I wonder how longer it would take before a good ratio actually agreed with the direction? And would a collapsing society actually influence people to seek other directions or would it lead them to their elected officials for help? I dont think that unless we have the example to show them the masses wont consider the RBE as a better direction, they'll go with what they know.
A model RBE city to show the world what is possible, we's gonna do this!

I worry most about the utter chaos in between. The crime and death that will occur during the change. I have yet to hear a critical mass scenario that sounds plausible that won't cause some type of mass social catastrophe leaving us all in a dangerous era.
