TOPIC: The Zeitgeist Movement now has 400,000 members

The Zeitgeist Movement now has 400,000 members 2 years ago #2358

Here is what i posted on their forum, maybe it can bring us more members in Atlas that want to do something:

Now if we can only get all 400,000 people to work together we can do amazing things.

This number of people can pretty much buy up any small town or even City in the US and start building the first City.

Here is a small group in Nevada that wants to build now: atlasinitiativegroup.org/home.html

Remember when actress Kim Basinger bought the Georgia Town of Braselton, population around 500 at the time. If 1 actress can do it i'm sure 400,000 people working together can do much more.

As Jacque always says its do we have the resources, yes as a group we do!

Jacque has all these plans for a City, so whats holding us up? All we need is the will to do it and take the actions necessary to do it.

Peace,

Either it was Roxanne or Jacque, I'm not sure which one, was not fond of how Atlas Initiative Group is going about the implementation and development of Atlas City. It seems that Jacque, Roxanne and Peter believe in the "my way or the high way" and frankly they don't even want to deal with us.

The same goes with the Resource Based Economy Foundation. Cosar emailed a representative for the Zeitgeist Movement and Roxanne at the Venus Project, only for them to both push Cosar and RBEF away, saying nearly exactly what was said to ACP.

As much as I love the people in The Zeitgeist Movement, they frankly won't do anything. I mean, why do you think people are moving from TZM to organizations like Atlas and RBEF. Its because they actually want to do something.

About 7/8ths of the TZM members just sit on the forums and talk about all the problems in the world, not willing to fix it. The other 1/8 is the people that truly make the difference. Those are the people we need.

So yes, congratulations for TZM on reaching 400,000+ members, frankly its not doing them any good. If Atlas had 2000 members of the 1/8 group I was talking about, the city would be up within months, not years or decades.

Yes, unfortunately we have been pushed away by Peter and Roxanne. They discourage us from building a city now because it will only fit a few people that live in it and they want the entire world to live this way. Personally, I think (and most of Atlas would agree) that this is saving face for their lack of momentum. The only logical way for society to change to the aspect we wish to see would be revolution, and none of us want this chaos and hardship. We decided to lead by example.

We have gotten decent response from many other organizations. RBEF, the New Z Land Project, 4allofus, and several others. We have tried to contact many others like Auroville, but you don't always get immediate or positive responses. I'm currently discussing city design and specs with the creator of the Eco Town site.

We need to always keep our eyes our for possible supporters, and even go out and look for them. We've had dozens of people from Zeitgeist look at our site, but most don't stick with it very long (Peter actually talked poorly about us on one of his weekly podcasts). Then again, most of us (all of the Oversight Committee) were TZM until they told us to go away. either way, it's good to see some new support from that direction since we really only disagree about a time line.

Only one question.

How many members do The Zeitgeist Movement want to have before they do something?

However.

I have read somewhere on Zeitgeist homepage or elsewhere, when Zeitgeist movement have 1 million members, then the first city would be build, correct?

I do not know how many members they'd want until they stop posting and do something, most likely until they have 6/6.5 billion people.

If they expect to have 1 million members before they do something, they'll find themselves disappointed. They could make a city right now, easy, with even 20,000 members.

yes you are absoultely right. the only mentioning of action that i hear was from peter joseph on one of his podcasts where he said that once TZM got 3,000,000 members from a majority of countries individually, peter would tell them all to stop paying their bills.

however, this, in my opinion, is not realistic. maybe one day they will have 3 million members, but not 3 million from many countries. secondly, this would do nothing but crash the current system when there is no other system in place. (namely a RBE)

therefore it is a bad idea.

Hey guys!

To avoid a big post, I'll just give you a brief idea of what I'm working on at the moment. I wish TZM started this already:

Simplicty and creativity is the key!

1. Agree, unite and get involved in the projects as follows below.
2. Shape an international recruitment staff for next steps.
3. Get power! Shape international political parties to get influence.
4. Get resources! Shape international business to gain the resources we need.
5. Start various projects and also support the existing ones we like!
6. Let people choose among hundreds of proposals, wich type of self-sustained city, its design etc. that they want to live in.

We dont even need to invest any money to get started. Some voluntary work and we can start doing business pretty soon and grow strong.

There is ways to reach a lot of people for getting them interested and involved fairly quick.

As it is now it's very frustrating to be a member of TZM. I vote for creativity rather than the "my way mentality", civil disobedience and hunger strikes.

Another thought is to get plans made for the Atlas city while the group is still small. This way there will be less people to get agreement from. Once all plans are made we tell new members here are the plans, now let's get to work.

Also let's get an option to purchase some land now, it is easier to get funding/donations when we already have ready land and drawn out plans for the City.

You guys really need to check out the Ringing Cedars book series and get in touch with fans, because apparently they are starting eco-villages all over the planet inspired by this story... Don't know how much they'd be up for hi-tech, but there definitely seems to be some positive communal momentum with these people...

Auroville seemed interested but kinda gave us the brush off from what I understand. They are pretty involved with what they are doing and I am not sure they are interested in building more places like theirs.

You sure know the reasons why JF and PJ object to that. You can get bombed or invaded very quickly if you do build it.
On an amotional level I don't like how you are being pushed away by them. From a logical standpoint I also fear that won't work.
