I realise it would only be a small amount due to our low membership number here at the moment, but the very act of doing it might in itself bring in more members.

Eg. if unemployed are seen picking up trash from the street and happen to be wearing some kind of URL banner on them at the same time.

If those with jobs are asking everyone else at work, again the word gets spread.

Thoughts ?

It's a good idea but getting people together to pick up trash is tough. We could make shirts and put banners on our cars while they are parked on the side of the road.

There was another idea that I put out a few months back. Here in Las Vegas there are homeless people standing on major street corners everywhere in town. If we gave them some warm food and something to drink in exchange for holding an Atlas sign with our website on it or giving them a t-shirt or jacket since its so cold this time of year, that could be a great form of advertising. We are helping to feed them and giving them work at the same time....

Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.

ChaseD702 OFFLINE Administrator Posts: 1117	Ideas like this will be very useful when there is more physical interaction between members. It's difficult to get people to meetings right now so it's a bit of a stretch, but in the future this could help.

I'm reminded of a story from my school days, it may help us to keep a community tidy in the future

The school had a litter problem, so the headmaster increased the price of everything in the tuckshop by 1 penny, and you got a penny back if you handed in your old wrapper.

The theory being, everyone would not drop litter..

But in practice, most people didn't care and we still had a litter problem.

At first..

Then, a few of us bothered to collect all the litter and made a small fortune!

But then, the kids that dropped litter said it was unfair that we profited, and the headmaster listened and cancelled the initiative, so we went back to litter everywhere..

So for a while, it was tidy, and I got lots of crisps and sweets for my hard work
