Atlas City Project

I'm really psyched about this idea and think we should talk more about it in our meeting Friday. I already have 3 bands that want to play and they are talking to a few other bands. One of the bands has already done tours around the country and has some good connections, plus the singer has been a good friend of mine for over a decade. Amanda already has one company that is going to advertise as well.

This week I am emailing/calling several local businesses with green tech, sustainability, etc to advertise with us. I'm also getting the information from a friend that knows local radio hosts. Our needs, which me and Amanda will try to go over this week more, will be:

-Place, Date (I've told the bands likely late April)
-Bands (that's easy)
-Publicity (radio, Review Journal, etc.)
-Advertising (pamphlets, gate space, lot space)
-Security/Clean up crew (maybe the park services can help?)
-Event name (have a few ideas, let you know)

I also want to try to make the distinction that the event is being hosted by the radio station or whomever and proceeds are going to us, instead of it sounding like we are running a business.

I've contacted about 20 local companies in solar panels, solar water, water purification, insulation, wind turbines, etc. and have already had a few interests.

I figure as many vendors as we can fit, each band gets a merchandise booth, radio station will likely want a stop or two, plus food and drink. This should cover the basics.

yeah, I am just curious who we need to contact to get the Thai BBQ guys from the Renaissance fair to our event!!

I've been meeting and networking with many people lately. I just discussed this event with a few more bands, a small local radio station, and I talked to the Park Recreation Manager for events. I have to write him an official letter, but there are a few issues. I'm going to start the process and will find out more when I am mailed the requirements, fees and rules for such an event.

So the park and recreation manager called. Our concert date will be Saturday, May 14th. We have a lot to do in the next few months!

We have a few more bands now, and the genres are getting more diversified.

I've also contacted around 20 vendors for advertising today. Let's hope a few bite.
