TOPIC: Living Quarters concept according to the wiki

Living Quarters concept according to the wiki 2 years, 3 months ago #983

Here is a concept design of the living quarters that I created through Sketchup in accordance to the wiki:

"Those that follow the illusion of power will always strive to become corrupt, those that follow the power of the illusion will always strive to become balanced." ~ Me.

Here's some of the interiors I've designed for the living quarters:

Study Room:

Common Room:

Kitchen:

Guest Bathroom:

Bedroom:

Bdrm's Bathroom:

This is in keeping with the concept and this part of the wiki is filling in. The point here is that rooms do not waste space but provide the room needed so that people have the personal space they need. Thanks for all your work on this Brad!

Great work!

someone mentioned to me that there should be a common room on every level of a highrise condo style living complex. This would create a neighborly type atmosphere.
Once you realize that every beings purpose in life is to learn, it becomes easier to forgive them for their mistakes.

The future doesn’t exist. The only time we can be peaceful is now, because now is all that exists.

Common room I think could just be like that of a living room, I think having too many walls in one condo could be a little confining, but it's always a flexible concept.

i keep asking for measurements.

i give up.

i will assume 8 meters, 4 meters, and 4 meters, tho thats almost certainly wrong, do it as a 16 meter square, and then redo it.

when you tell me how big it is.

this is what might be called a slop architectural treatment.

It has a foundation, beams, the model in essence includes all the parts required to build it... minus plumbing and so forth.

I put a roof on it, an ultra modern plastic transparent roof...

Since we seem to be discussing very small apartment sizes.

If you added a loft(s) you could make this three or four stories tall.

now, then, whats to be added? how is this? Would you like view minus the roof?

Should i stack five of them and make a nice hall way with 3 or 5 cells per side?

this model gives a 4 meter tall floor, and is 16 meters squared.

It would be a very nice personal estate and is a very feasible building, tho somehow it feels rural more than city ish to me.

So this is a single individual dwelling that has been modeled. Next up is obviously to start stacking. The nice thing about thinking modular is that
the same basic forms and shapes and designs can grow with us in a scalar and fractal way.

Here is the same floor plan five stories tall. Its still in autocad because sketchup takes a long time to paint, but if anybodies interested in playing 3D coloring book (err... please? anybody?) I can import it to a sketchup model and let somebody color it up.

(you might be happier with coloring things up yourselves anyhow, aspies are notoriously bad at color schemes...)

You may note that there is a lot of porch space and a stairwell house.

Here is the same thing again, now 41 stories tall. Given how small the foot print is thats about as tall as I think you'd want to take it.

The point to be made here is that once we designed the interior and basic apartment, that apartment can be used in a scalar and fractal manner for increasingly larger buildings.

The two lower images are yet another larger building, this time the footprint has been multiplied by 3 into a sort of triangle.

Re:Living Quarters concept according to the wiki 1 year, 10 months ago #3202

that looks really cool. i heard people throwing around 1200 sq feet for a single living apartment area.

i dont know where Chase's drawing of the earthships are, that would be cool for you to model.

Chase, if you read this, could you please post a link for your earthship drawing??
