These are simply tackling the first three layers of the Atlas Spider web design.

What's great about the web design is that it is in a sense like a spiral, but using the extensions of course can stretch out further and further past the center point allowing more layers to be created as we expand more and more. Rather than asking what good is it, the question is more around the lines of "Is it suitable for what we want to accomplish?" I feel with more adaptation through the community, we can use this concept to meet the standards we'd like to see through Atlas.

I'd like to get a community vote on this design to see if this would be the design to go for, of course, modifications can always be implemented, but really, I think this way is the way to go.

That looks pretty interesting. I could see us getting around with something like that rather than a full sized train or tram. Not that they're bad or anything, just I feel they'd be better utilized in a larger city scope. Something simple like this could be fun and effective.

I imagine that we will require an underground section as well, I am thinking 3 stories down below ground which will be used for a combo of housing and critical functions. These three levels are built to survive a disaster event and would be shielded and well supplied. I really like this design. I would add a skyway between the sections however and picture it at least 3-4 stories high (above ground) for space efficiency.

thats looking el neato. How many stories tall are your buildings?

Time for a redraw no?

So this can be resized. the pools are currently 8 meters diameter in autocad
but the translator always shrinks things by 3.

I can make it bigger or smaller and theres a scale feature also in sketchup.

Obviously this is zero details but the web but if you look very closely that web is a designed lattice of pools...

so its like a moat but all bridges, a skinny swimming pool strip or sets of
smaller pools. You can have some of them be aquaculture, some be hot and some cold, and etc..

Again, that's hard to say. The center medical building will likely be the tallest, with other non-residentials around it. Some have proposed the many story condo style for residentials, I also posted some for the 3 story efficient buildings. Taller buildings do provide for most to be placed on limited space, but the taller they are the less efficient they become. Either way, we don't have a good answer for this yet.

now would be a good time to start working on pinning down the details so that you do have some good answers.

I have one foot out the door from trying to help humans. It doesn't seem to work.

Its nice and sunny outside and there are beaches and hot springs calling to me and 15 years behind me of trying to help humanity evolve.

I need to know that this is going somewhere serious, and that you guys can pull this together, otherwise I'm floored at the level of response.

Or even the level of development. Or even the lack of process.

Let me walk you through it.

First you need to generate a list of zones and then per zone a list of buildings. Then you need per building to generate a list of rooms.

Then you stack that stuff together, and that then equals a city.

This is not really that hard, but unless you go through the steps ABC like,
its all just vague and dreamy.

Though this is a really neat looking design, it seems to waste a lot of space that we will be limited on. I'd like to let you look at the design I have been working on (just for fun, but it may become the basic template we use). I'm not sure how to scan a poster board sized project though.
