David Eagleman on Possibilianism

I think this is worth watching, take a look and share your thoughts.

I've had this in my browser for like a week now and finally got around to watching it (finals are over!) and it's not bad.

Basic explanation is you start with broad spectrum anything goes. Then use science to knock off that which doesn't make sense. It's a very open minded, scientific outlook on all aspects of life.

Its also called Lateral thinking exercises.

Edward DeBono - Father of lateral thinking.

they taught this technique when i was studying architect and it does work very well.

Essentially have lots of crazy lateral ideas, resist the urge to converge them.
they take the many lateral ideas and start to converge them, and see which ones turns out the best.

The nice thing was that in Edwards DeBono's books there were many methodologies that you can employ to stop your mind converging the ideas. You see we naturally always try to converge ideas, which shuts down the possibilities

It would be amazing the possibilities we may come up with if such approaches were used from birth. I think some of this should be added to/addressed in the education forum as well. It would be nice to learn all of these techniques at an early age.
