learning from the past.

I found an interesting article on the rise and fall of socialisms in Sweden. I think we have some interesting lessons to learn from this, especially when it mentions Rosengård.

Sweden after the Swedish Model

Money is the problem... as long as people value money more than each other, all systems will fail. The monetary system is broken, it cannot be mended, no political party can save it. RBE is the future that will work and we will prove it!

This article said: A difficult time of high unemployment and fiscal crisis became the everyday reality of the Swedes.

In Atlas, if labor reduction is truly needed. it will be reduced for all, and do so while all enjoy the resources that are adequately available. You cannot compare socialism to RBE, they are not similar. An RBE can be compared to the Hutterites, both are successful models without money and where people are valued first.

Yes, basically socialism in Sweden relied on the economic growth of the 50s and 60s to make the success that it did. When that failed it failed.

You can learn lessons from the social engineering in Sweden. Especially from Rosengård where the social engineers designed the housing after their view of the nature of the "modern human", which failed when real people moved in. Something important there for any city or community design.

Another thing to learn; success can have it problems. Because the system reach such a high level of success no one questioned it. So, when problems started to occur no one fixed them. To me that highlights the need to question things; even the good things.

I see where you are coming from.

the way we build and design the city could ultimately realize its own demise.
we have to build to fit the way people think and want to live their lives. I mean, realistically this could also apply to where we end up building our city. if it isnt in a place people are excited about, it could end up being more difficult to populate.

Socialism is nothing more than a system of control - designed to fail in a truly free society.

I think the concepts of the city define it, not location and other secondary concepts. Humanitarianism (anti-slaver, anti-commercialism, education, health, environmental) can be anywhere with any amount of people.
