Atlas City Project

i want to propose something radical, but i just want to discuss these with admin and moderator first. can admin create a sub-forum which is only viewable by me and admin/moderator? this sub-forum shall not viewable for normal member & public at all cost. sub-forum title would be ok like "private meetting"

Although its not up to me, as a moderator I would say that would not be a good idea as it is against the idea of "transparency". I really don't understand why you would only want you and the admins / moderators to be able to view this channel, why should we only let you view this subforum and not everyone else? We shouldn't put anyone first...

I say no, although its really not my decision, just my two cents.

We are a transparent group - we have nothing to hide, every thing we do is legal and we have great people that will help make things happen! So lets just discuss openly, we have yet to be burned by this approach.

i think its QUITE IMPOSSIBLE to start RBE, how much money we could raise? even we attempt big fund raising, this would have cost a lot already. dont ever think about loan, paying installment because NOBODY would lend the money once they know the money will be spent on develop RBE, simply because RBE do not generate cash. even current investor would say.. "sure i'll lend you the money, just tell me how much is the return".. RBE has no such thing, and with current profoundly sick society, prepare to expect NOTHING IN RETURN upon building the RBE.

however.. realistically.. pls start building a house first.

Please read previous posts before speaking harshly. There are several discussions on each of those topics to prove just how wrong you are. Open mindedness and creativity has passed us beyond the limitations and criticisms of cynics. It will not be easy, but it is possible.

ah_tee84 I like your ideas because they are my own ideas. Thats what we must get "like minded individuals" to start. We need at least 100 people talking about a plan to start.

Ive seen like minded individuals mentioned several time several on sites.

i posted this on the Zettinnova site, thought i would place it here also. If everyone is serious we can own land this year:

We can do it, we can buy the land this year and start building:

1) $1 each day from each member - for those who say they have no money need to ask yourself how can i get the money. Can you cut your neighbors grass for $10, can you wash their car for $5, can you clean their house for $15-$20, can you collect soda/beer cans someone just told me they get 50 cents a pound scrapping them, you get 5 cents each can in some states and 10 cents each can in California.

2) Get the word out and increase membership with each new member also giving 1 dollar a day.

Lets round off current membership to 1,000 (we are at 868) if we were each able to get 1 new member a month next month we would have 2,000 members each giving 1 dollar a day. Month 2 there would be 4,000 members giving a dollar a day. Month 3 there would be 8,000 members giving a dollar a day, month 4 there would be 16,000 members giving 1 dollar a day. We can stop adding members at that point for now, buy the land and build the city. If all 16,000 members had 4 people in their family that would be a city of 64,000 people working towards an RBE for the world.

Once City is done and things are working great each family contacts another family member or friend describing how great it is getting everything for free and only working 20 hours or so a week. Invite them to the city to see how we live. Think their friends and family members will want to join us then? Then they do the same, join us at 1 dollar a day and we build the second city.

This is simple (not easy) but it can be done. If we are serious about this we can all find 1 dollar a day to donate, cut back on coffee, cigarettes, junk food, shut all unnecessary lights, car pool anything we can to save the 1 dollar a day.

The human body is not a single cell but trillions of cells working together to keep the whole body alive. If we want this to succeed we need to be like the cells in our body and work together.

Also please do not post how this will not work-it can and will work if we really want it to.

We do not take money from our members, this isn't a cult or some religious institution. We get money from government grants.

I have nothing against "spreading the word" and promoting Atlas, but we will not ask for money.

Congratulations, you didn't even mind editing the post. When the heck will we finally post up the forum rules about this? If its not done by the next meeting I will most certainly address it.

Again, in regards to the money.
Basically you ramble on about the same thing as above so I will make it clear.

1. We do not take money from our members, we get money from grants.
2. We would love for people that live in our city to know what RBE is and have an understanding of what the paradigm shift would require, I don't think we should have your everyday "commoner", with little understanding (if any) of the RBE to work in the city, as they would most likely still be stuck in the old paradigm.
3.When you post something from a different site, edit it. This may be tolerated in other sections of the forum such as this one, but it won't be tolerated in the AOSDT forum area.

It's more than that. People can donate if they wish, but asking people to actively donate as part of a membership (basically) goes against the basic philosophy. And really, it's not necessary. If someone wants to put up $10-20 of their own money and have a bake sale, then give the proceeds to donation that's quite different then asking everyone to donate. I am active in citynet as well and they are quite willing (at least some of them) to be a part of Atlas. Their main idea of income is a business net. Not a bad idea. There are issues, as with anything, but something we can consider being that grants are so difficult to obtain.

It feels like people are not watching the previous meetings. Boring yes but they have the answers people seek. We need one movie that would bring everyone up to snuff
