i will make this as short as possible and so everyone can read it and get to my point.
hello Jinx and ChaseD702, i just read through whats the committee organization about. to answer your question, i doubt if i had any specific skills..
my academic qualification is certificate in comp studies, cert III in Information Tech, and Diploma in E-Business. most likely that barely can contribute anything useful for Atlas city.
however from my personal side, i have some research and readings done how to have renewable energy, water and those human life support necessity etc etc.. that always have been my interest. then i can be information organizer for this Atlas community, or research/reading in many places, around the net and see which one is the best technical solutions Atlas city should consider venture into, aside from that little effort to spread awareness in social networking website should be fine, thats all i can do for answering your questions.
now the problems here is i would very much not to do those because i think Atlas proposition so far is a bit difficult to realize, therefore i suggest the following :
we should starts from a simple house first. that means i assume some of you here would find a piece of small land, with easy access to outside world city and we will build this modern eco-house for a start. actually i found they
have (openfarmtech) the best and most realistic approach how to start up RBE so far. with workshop and self made engineering tools how to be able to expand and recreate infrastructure.
i am from Malaysia, but i think this doesnt matter because im single, no debt, no jobs no nothing at all, and i would consider moving here and volunteer full time to get this started. (we'll talk more about this later)
so why i suggest starting from a simple land and build simple house? because we should at least have a full small scale operational model to show the outside world before able to turn it into village and slowly into city. in the house, the very first important thing is we focus only on renewable water system and farming first.
most important for human survival is water and food, electricity we can temporary on the grid first, but will remove it once we have our own power station/generator or something else.
so the house assume have bathroom, kitchen sink, all these need water and we somehow design it to completely recycle the water so able to reuse again. then with the farming, we should try to achieve 100% independence (although its impossible i think) self grown and for consumption, the extra can be use to sell it on open market and gets more funding for next project.
assuming, the house is build, we will use this house as permanent research base, for discussion, meeting, execution plan or the best is actually let people know about our house, people can live here for free water/food (after done some interview)and as long as they are ready to volunteer into this project. this is how we can get real human labour/power into the Atlas. with internet access in the 'house', volunteers can spread their awareness on the net from house as well.
my point of view is, this is more of like high-tech commune and trying to evolve into city because we are trying the best not to related with capitalism, although it is not possible, at least if we have some common ground, the project will get going.
assume, we have the permanent base (house) my idea is we can do a presentation in various university, let the students know what is our objective, point of view in life, and even advertise on media to let unemployed people to volunteer and in order to return their effort gets to stay here and have free water/food/accomodation. we should be growing fast at this stage.
so anyone wants to offer the land with easy access to city, please let me know i'll be the first one to volunteer working on it. thank you for reading.
